Robot Systems

Elevator (Product Page)

Elevators can be more effective at lifting objects than arms because they don’t move the object further away from the robot while lifting. The tradeoff in performance comes with complexity, and often this has kept many teams from making elevator systems on their robots. Our collection of elevator products will help your team make a simple, reliable elevator system that will be sure to elevate your level of play:

  • Energy chain makes wire management on elevator systems a breeze

  • Our variety of chain tensioning options let you chain-rig your elevator power

  • Use a friction brake to hold your elevator in place without stalling your motors

  • Create your elevator frame with aluminum tubes and gussets

Elevator Blocks

The new Elevator Bearing Blocks simplify the sliding element of FRC Elevators. Instead of requiring 4 gussets for each corner of each stage of the elevator, the Elevator Bearing Block simplifies all those parts down to one easy to assemble block.

Notable features:

  • Fewer parts and no plates.

  • Compatible with 1/2”, 5/8”, and 3/4” OD bearings.

  • Easy to assemble and maintain.

  • Elevator stages can be assembled much closer together, wasting less space.

Wire Management

Energy chain is the industry standard for cable management, especially when it comes to moving systems. WCP carries both Semi-Enclosed which is useful for elevators and Bi Directional energy, typically used for turrets.

  • Semi-Enclosed Energy Chain (15mm x 30mm, 1 meter length)

  • Semi-Enclosed Energy Chain (15mm x 45mm, 1 meter length)

  • Bi Directional Energy Chain (.625" ID, 3ft Length)

  • Bi Directional Energy Chain (1" ID, 3ft Length)

Rigging & Tensioning

Chain Tensioners

WCP offers two types of chain tensions, the Spartan style and the TurnBuckle style.

Spartan #25 Chain Tensioners and Spartan #35 Chain Tensioners are not meant to wrap around sprockets, so use only in situations where chain does not run continuously around sprocket loops.

Pulley & String

Do you need a single pulley? A double? A triple? You can have 1,323 pulleys, or even more, all by stacking a single part! Our new stackable pulleys allow you to have as many (or as little) pulleys as you’d like by stacking a single part over and over and over. The stackable pulleys are designed to fit together seamlessly, and are sized such that the outer diameter of a 1/4” polycord cable on the pulley is either 1.625” or 2” to match with our flex wheel sizes.

  • Cascade Pulley Block

  • 1.625" Pulley (1/4" Groove, Single)

  • UHMWPE Rope (.125" x 25'ft, Black)

Ratchet Plate (1/2" Hex)

The Ratchet Plate is designed to replace the traditional 1/2" hex wrench while also giving teams an easy and direct mounting experience with the integrated #10 hardware clearance holes.

Idler Pulley

Idlers are yet another way to ensure proper tension is present in a system as they can be placed either on inside or outside of the belt loop to provide more contact with the sprocket and decrease slack. Adding an idler to the loop does not affect the ratio and can actually benefit performance if placed near the driving pulley as it allows for more meshing.

Kevlar Belt

Kevlar timing belts are a lightweight and durable material known for its increased durability, improved performance, and reduced maintenance. This makes them ideal for use in timing the operation of moving parts, such as elevators.

Braking System

The Friction Brake allows you to aid your PID controller in holding an arm, elevator or another subsystem in place or even completely hold your mechanism in place without any motor power!

  • Easy integration with your design

  • Same 1.875" bolt pattern as the VersaBlocks

Tubing

  • 2" x 1" x 0.0625" Aluminum Tube Stock (59")

  • 2" x 1" x 0.125" Aluminum Tube Stock (59")

  • 2" x 1" x 0.0625" Aluminum Tube Stock 1" Pattern (47")

  • 2" x 1" x 0.09375" Aluminum Tube Stock 1" Pattern (47")

Round Roller System (Product Page)

Developed as a collaboration with VEXpro, the VersaRoller system gives teams a modular system to create almost any kind of roller. Available in high-strength black anodized aluminum or lightweight plastic, the VersaRoller system enables you to easily create the solution for your roller needs.

Roller Tubing

Roller Tubing can be used in a variety of applications, including feeder or intake systems. Each tube comes with scribe lines at every 90°, so you know exactly where to drill holes

  • .625" ID x 0.75" OD Aluminum Round Tube Stock (47")

  • .875" ID x 1" OD Aluminum Round Tube Stock (47")

  • 1.125" ID x 1.25" OD Aluminum Round Tube Stock (47")

Roller Hubs

Roller Hubs are specifically designed to be used with the Roller Tubing. Roller hubs are often used in robotics to create roller intake systems, conveyor systems, and other mechanisms.

  • 7/8" OD Aluminum Roller Hub (1/2" Hex Bore)

  • 7/8" OD Aluminum Roller Hub (5/16-18 Tapped Bore)

  • 1-1/8" OD Aluminum Roller Hub (1/2" Hex Bore)

  • 1-1/8" OD Aluminum Roller Hub (5/16-18 Tapped Bore)

Hub Inserts

Roller hub inserts allow you to drive a roller using a pulley, sprocket, or other mechanism. This eliminates the need for a long axle or hex shaft running the length of the roller. Instead, the insert can simply ride on a bearing or other support on the axle.

  • 1/2" Hex OD x 1-1/4" L Roller Hub Hex Insert (5/16-18 Tapped)

  • 1/2" Hex OD x 3" L Roller Hub Hex Insert (5/16-18 Tapped)

Roller Hub Flanges

Roller Hub Flanges are placed at the end of a tube to increase the flange's outer diameter as a way to prevent rope, polycord, flat belting, etc. from slipping off the end of a tube.

  • 1.75" Roller Flange (1" ID Roller) (2-Pack)

  • 2" Roller Flange (1.25" ID Roller) (2-Pack)

Polycord (Product Page)

Do you need a single pulley? A double? A triple? You can have 1,323 pulleys, or even more, all by stacking a single part! Our new stackable pulleys allow you to have as many (or as little) pulleys as you’d like by stacking a single part over and over and over. The stackable pulleys are designed to fit together seamlessly, and are sized such that the outer diameter of a 1/4” polycord cable on the pulley is either 1.625” or 2” to match with our flex wheel sizes.
