Advanced Features
Standard Features
Motor Placement
The Standard version of the WCP Swerve X2 allows for three different Drive Motor placements.
Motor Mounting
The Standard Swerve X2 configuration is designed with the drive and rotation motors mounted on a 5/8" aluminum motor spacer. This spacer pilots into the mounting plate, allowing the motors to be bolted on securely and removed without disassembling the module.
Hardware
The Standard Swerve X2 configuration uses the least number of parts, making it the lightest of the X2 configurations. Its simplified design reduces weight and complexity while still providing full motor accessibility.
Inverted Features
ThroughBore Encoder
The Inverted configuration supports a keyed 1/2" hex shaft, providing a true 1/2" hex through-bore solution for accurate position sensing of the module.
Design
The Inverted module is fully symmetrical, eliminating the need for left- or right-hand specific configurations. This makes inventory management simpler and reduces complexity during assembly.
Simplified Motor Mounting
A combined motor mounting plate reduces the overall part count while streamlining the assembly process, making the inverted configuration lighter and easier to build compared to our legacy Swerve X Flipped Modules.
Thin Features
ThroughBore Encoder
The Thin configuration supports a keyed 1/2" hex shaft, providing a true 1/2" hex through-bore solution for accurate position sensing of the module.
Design
The Swerve X2 Thin design uses flippable plates, allowing left- and right-hand modules to be built from the exact same parts. This reduces the need for unique hardware, simplifies inventory, and makes assembly more straightforward. All gears remain within the top plate and motor mounting plate profiles, creating a design that’s easier to package into a robot.
An additional bottom support plate reinforces the motor mounts, improving rigidity and durability. This added strength helps the module handle the stresses of competition with confidence.
Compact Features
ThroughBore Encoder
The Compact configuration supports a keyed 1/2" hex shaft, providing a true 1/2" hex through-bore solution for accurate position sensing of the module.
Design
The Swerve X2 Compact design uses flippable plates, allowing left- and right-hand modules to be built from the exact same parts. This reduces the need for unique hardware, simplifies inventory, and makes assembly more straightforward. All gears remain within the top plate and motor mounting plate profiles, creating an even more compact design that’s easier to package into a robot.
