Elevator Mast

The images below show the assembled Elevator Mast. The number of stages you plan on assembling will affect the final appearance of your Elevator Mast.

Step 1

Assemble the Elevator Mast Vertical Tube with an aluminum tube plug and appropriate plastic tube plug sleeve. The tube plug can be installed using #10-32 x 3/8”L bolts.

Repeat this step for both Elevator Mast Vertical Tubes.

Step 2

Bolt the assembled vertical tubes for the mast to the Elevator Base Tube. The bottom face of the tube should be drilled to 3/8”, providing adequate clearance so the #10-32 x 3/8”L bolts can be installed inside the tube.

Step 3

Install the Bearing Blocks as shown in the image below. The Bearing Blocks use 1/2” hole spacing.

Repeat this step for both sides of the Elevator Mast.

Make sure to install the Bearing Blocks with the 3/4" OD Radial Bearings on the back of the mast and the Bearing Blocks without the 3/4" Radial Bearings on the front.

If you are building a 1 Stage Elevator, this step is not required.

Step 4

Attach the Elevator Mast Cross Tube to the Elevator Mast Vertical Tubes using four #10-32 bolts and 2” long spacers. While the tube can be lower, it is recommended to mount it as high as possible to increase the strength of the elevator mast.

Make sure to install the bearing blocks with the 3/4” radial bearings on the back of the mast and the bearing blocks without the 3/4” radial bearings on the front.

Step 5

Drill the holes marked in green on one of the Centered Bearing Plates to be clearance for #10-32. Once that is done, press the 1/2" ThunderHex Bearings into both plates. Install both plates as shown in the image below using two #10-32 x 1-1/2"L bolts.
