1st Stage

The images below show the assembled 1st Stage. The number of stages you plan on assembling will affect the final appearance of your 1st Stage.

If you are assembling an 1 Stage Elevator, this section can be skipped.

Step 1

Before assembling the 1st Stage Horizontal Tubes, drill the threaded holes on the Aluminum Tube Plugs that are marked in green. Both sides must be drilled. Then, assemble both 1st Stage Horizontal Tubes as shown in the image below.

The bolt heads for both Pulley Blocks must be facing towards each other.

Step 2

Bolt the 1st Stage Vertical Tubes to the assembled 1st Stage Horizontal Tubes. The holes in the vertical tube must be drilled clearance for #10-32 bolts with the outside face drilled to 3/8", similar to how the Elevator Base Tube is done. When assembled, the heads of the #10-32 x 3/8"L bolts will sit inside the 1st Stage Vertical Tube.

Step 3

Mount both Chain Attachment Brackets to the bottom 1st Stage Horizontal Tube in the orientation shown below. The brackets will be installed using six #10-32 x 2-1/2"L bolts and #10-32 nuts.

This step is only required if you are assembling a 2 Stage Elevator. If you are assembling an elevator with 3 or more stages, these brackets must be mounted to the 1st stage after the Elevator Mast.

Step 4

Install the Bearing Blocks as shown in the image below. The Bearing Blocks use 1/2" hole spacing.

Make sure to install the Bearing Blocks with the 3/4" OD Radial Bearings on the front of the 1st Stage and the Bearing Blocks without the 3/4" OD Radial Bearings on the back.

Step 5

Bolt the 5/8" L Spacer to the back side of the 1st Stage Vertical Tube in the position shown in the image below.

Repeat this step for both sides of the 1st Stage.

This step is only required if you are building an elevator with 3 or more stages.
