# Getting Started

## Assembly Prep

Refer back to the [Individual Components](https://docs.wcproducts.com/welcome/system-and-structure/wcp-stub-rollers/general-info/individual-components) page to ensure that all necessary parts are located before starting assembly steps.

#### Tools Required For Assembly

These tools are required for the assembly of the WCP Stub Rollers

* Snap Ring Pliers (For 1/2" Snap Rings)
* Allen Keys
  * 1/8"

## Assembly Instructions

The following sections will cover the basic assembly instructions for the WCP Stub Rollers.

{% hint style="info" %}
The following section will use the Aluminum Stub Roller Hub (1-1/8" OD) for reference but assembly instructions are interchangeable for all the WCP Stub Roller configurations.
{% endhint %}

## Step 1

The 1/2" ID bearings will be installed as shown below. The bearings should be recessed into the Roller Hub.

{% hint style="warning" %}
Bearings may be a press fit. Use an arbor press to ensure the bearings are fully seated.
{% endhint %}

## Step 1B (Optional)

{% hint style="success" %}
This step is optional.
{% endhint %}

The inside bearing can be retained in the Roller Hub Assembly using a snap ring. This snap ring is not necessary and is only intended to be used when the rollers will be used with a shaft running throughout. This will prevent the bearing from backing out during use.

{% hint style="info" %}
The optional Snap Ring is a 7/8" ID Internal Snap Ring ([McMaster P/N 99142A420](https://www.mcmaster.com/99142a420/)).
{% endhint %}

## Step 2

Insert the correct Stub Shaft into the Roller Hub assembly and secure this with the 1/2" Snap Ring. Refer back to the compatibility chart to ensure that the correct Stub Shaft is being used for the Roller Hub.

{% endtab %}
{% endtabs %}

## Step 3

Insert the assembled Stub Roller Hub Assembly into the Tube and secure using #10-32 x 1/4"L bolts.

## Step 4

Thread the bolt through your desired mounting surface and into the Stub Shaft. Use the Stub Shaft Wrench to hold the Stub Shaft in place while tightening the bolt.

{% hint style="warning" %}
The table below will show what bolt to use for each Stub Shaft length. Lengths are determined using a 1/4" thick mounting surface, anything thicker than this will need a longer bolt.
{% endhint %}

| 1-3/4"L Stub Shaft | 2-1/4"L Stub Shaft    | 2-3/4"L Stub Shaft |
| ------------------ | --------------------- | ------------------ |
| #10-32 x 2"L Bolt  | #10-32 x 2-1/2"L Bolt | #10-32 x 3"L Bolt  |
