# Mounting Example

The gear rack offers a compelling alternative to cable operated linear motion. Shown below is one example of a use cases for the new WCP Gear Racks that teams can incorporate into their FRC systems.

### Simple assemblies

The assembly below uses the Gear Rack combined with 2"x1" tubing and the Elevator Inline Bearing Block [(WCP-0199)](https://wcproducts.com/collections/systems-structure/products/elevator-components) to achieve linear motion.
