Refer back to the Individual Components page to ensure that all necessary parts are located before starting assembly steps.
These tools are required for the assembly of the Plate Bearing Block
1/8" Allen Key
Blue Loctite (McMaster P/N 1004A12) is recommended on all bolts that thread into a tapped hole.
The following section will cover the basic assembly instructions for the Plate Bearing Block.
The following steps use the bearings that are used for the 0.25" Plate Configuration.
If you are not using this configuration, refer back to the Configurations page for the appropriate bearing replacements.
Bolt the bearing and washer stack-up to the block as shown in the image below. Repeat this step to create the other half of the bearing block.
Failure to install the washer will increase the friction in the system and may lead to inconsistent motion.
Place the dowel pin and radial bearing into position. The dowel pin should be fully inserted into the machined pocket. Place the other second assembly created in step 1 over this, as shown below.
The dowel pin should be fully seated in both of the machined pockets.
Secure the assembly from Step 2 together using the included #10-32 x 1"L Bolts. Be cautious when tightening the bolts during this step as overtightening them can lead to increased friction.
Spacers can be used to guarantee perfect spacing but are not required.
